As part of the 7th Traditional Food Symposium, organized in collaboration with the Chambers of Agricultural Engineers and Food Engineers, Gaziantep’s products bearing geographical indications were showcased to participants. The Gaziantep Geographical Indications Stand, set up for the symposium, attracted great interest from academics, faculty members, and students. Visitors to the stand were informed about Gaziantep’s initiatives regarding geographical indications, its registered products, and the city’s rich gastronomic heritage. The event highlighted Gaziantep’s efforts to become a "Leading City in Geographical Indications" and emphasized the importance of the registration, protection, and promotion of these products, as well as their preservation for future generations. Through the geographical indication-certified products displayed at the stand, participants learned about the historical and cultural richness of Gaziantep cuisine, while also gaining insight into the traditional production methods and regional characteristics that define these products. By connecting the scientific community and younger generations with Gaziantep’s gastronomic and geographical indication assets, the event contributed to an approach that views local products through the lenses of scientific knowledge, traditional production culture, and sustainability.
