The Future of Geographical Indications to Be Discussed at GastroAntep 2026
The 8th International Gaziantep Gastronomy Festival (GastroAntep) will be held in Gaziantep on October 10–11, 2026, as part of the Türkiye Culture Route Festival. Organized under the theme "The Age of Experience: Gastronomy, Agriculture, Tourism, and Hospitality," the festival will address topics such as gastronomy, agriculture, tourism, cultural heritage, local production, and next-generation gastronomy experiences. The festival program will feature a panel titled "How Do Geographical Indications Forge a Link Between Agriculture, Production, and Gastronomy?" which will evaluate the role of geographical indications in protecting local production, strengthening agricultural value chains, ensuring the sustainability of gastronomy culture, and enhancing the economic value of local products. Discussions will focus on how geographical indications—key tools for carrying Gaziantep’s rich gastronomic heritage into the future—strengthen the connections among producers, agriculture, gastronomy, and tourism. GastroAntep 2026 will also bring together gastronomy professionals, chefs, producers, academics, investors, and industry representatives from various regions of Türkiye and the world in Gaziantep. Throughout the festival, local products and traditional culinary culture will be integrated with contemporary gastronomic approaches. By showcasing Gaziantep’s deep-rooted gastronomy culture and products with geographical indication status on both national and international stages, the festival will unite diverse perspectives on the future of gastronomy.
