Its Story▾
It is a type of embroidery practiced by the local people in the Gaziantep region. It is divided into two categories: Antique Antep Work (with white/cream fabric) and Colored Antep Work (with multi-colored threads). Formed by counting and pulling fabric threads, thread-drawing techniques, and satin stitch works, this type of embroidery features a non-raveling characteristic.

How It Is Made▾
Completely handmade: placing the fabric on the embroidery frame, pulling threads in the cross direction, stitching with needle and thread techniques (lentil, liver-piercer, cemelyan, spider, snowball, chitime, almond openwork, susma/mushabak), edge cleaning, and ironing.
