Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality has been honored with awards in four different categories at the 24th Golden Compass Turkey Public Relations Awards, organized by the Turkish Public Relations Association (TÜHİD).

Among the municipality’s winning projects was "Gaziantep’s Culinary Heritage: A Journey of Preservation, Promotion, and Elevation," which received an award in the "Local Government City Branding" category.

Launched in January 2022, this project focuses on preserving and promoting Gaziantep’s gastronomic culture, products with geographical indications, and local values, ensuring they are passed on to future generations.

Local Government Smart City Applications: Sustainable and Smart Transportation Strategic Plan for Gaziantep (GAUS)

Local Government Social Services: "Buğday Tanesi" (Grain of Wheat) Prosthetics and Orthotics Production and Application Center

At the awards ceremony held on October 20, 2026, at The Ritz-Carlton, Istanbul, the award for the "Gaziantep’s Culinary Heritage" project was accepted by Kenan Seçkin, Head of the Department of Sustainable Agriculture and Rural Development.

Gaziantep Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to protect and promote products with geographical indications and to strengthen the city’s brand value.
