Its Story▾
It is a type of atlas fabric produced and used in Gaziantep for centuries, typically woven with a warp-satin or plain weave structure, featuring vertical striped patterns. Its warp is fine silk, and its weft is a mixture of cotton and silk. Based on the number of warp threads, it is divided into three categories: kutnu fabric, meydaniye kutnu fabric, and alaca kutnu fabric.

How It Is Made▾
It consists of the processes of unravelling, dyeing process (including tie-dye technique), mezek process, preparation before drawing-in, drawing-in, preparation of weft yarn, weaving process, and finishing process (annealing, sizing, calendering, mangling).
